Video CD - VCD: the cross between DVD and CD

If you have VHS tapes that you would like to be able to play on your DVD player or computer, and
don't want the expense of going to DVD, then may we suggest the VCD (VideoCD) option.

VCD stands for 'Video Compact Disc' and basically it is a CD that contains moving pictures
and sound. If you're familiar with regular audio/music CDs, then you will know what a VCD
looks like. A VCD has the capacity to hold up to 74/80 minutes (on 650MB/700MB CDs
respectively) of full-motion video along with quality stereo sound. VCDs use a compression
standard called MPEG to store the video and audio. A VCD can be played on almost all stand
alone DVD Players and of course on all computers with a DVD-ROM or CD-ROM drive with
the help of a software based decoder / player (like Quicktime, Real Player or Media Player).
The quality of a VCD is about the same as, but usually better than VHS tape based Movies.

A VCD can be played on

- Almost all stand alone DVD Players
- Playstations with VCD-addon
- Sega Saturn with VCD-addon pp
- And all computers with a CD-ROMs/DVD-ROMs with a software VCD/MPG Player1.

Running Time Additional Copies
1-10 minutes $21.95 $14.50 each
11-20 minutes $22.95 $15.50 each
21-30 minutes $24.95 $16.50 each
31-40 minutes $26.95 $17.50 each
41-65 minutes $28.95 $18.50 each
We do not recommend a VCD exceeding 60-65 minutes due to the potential for a lesser quality transfer (the more you add, the more it needs to be compressed, the worse it looks).
