The lab uses Professional VCRs which have real time counters rather than numbers 0-9999. Accurate, or correct editing instructions require real time numbers ( hour, mins., and seconds) of the scenes to be edited in or out. We can not use the four-digit counter numbers. they are not accurate due to fluctuations between VCRs.
1) If the tape is to be duplicated from the beginning to some place in the middle, the tape should be forwarded to the end point in the middle of the tape.
2) If the tape is to be duplicated from the middle to the end. The tape should be forwarded to the start point in the middle of the tape.
3) Editing out glitches (snowy sections) or commercials This type of editing is very time consuming and costly. It usually adds more cost to the duplication than is worthwhile.
4) Editing an unwanted section in the middle. The tape must be forwarded to the
beginning of the section. Write a short description of what the unwanted
section is about and the approx. length of time that the section runs for.

Combining Tapes: Several tapes can be combined onto a single tape for convenience and to reduce the cost. This only makes sense if the total time of the combined tapes would reduce the number of tapes needed for the duplication. The cost of this duplication is figured by charging for the combined time of the tapes and adding $5.00 each time a tape is added. For example: if 3 tapes are combined onto one duplicate that runs 90 mins. The cost would be $21.95 + (2x$5 ea. for the additional source tapes)=$31.95.
Duplication is recorded in SP (2 hour speed) for best results. If a request is made for LP, SLP or EP speeds, the lab cannot be held responsible for the quality.
*BETACAM: This is a professional format used by TV stations and is much different from the old BETAMAX. Duplication from this format is available, please inquire.
